Labour Day marks the unofficial end of Summer as school age children start their new school year. Kids often have mixed feelings – sadness at ending their summer vacation and excitement to see their friends and learn new things. On behalf of our team, many of whom are parents, we wish all of them a fun, successful school year ahead.
Change is in the air in the world of immigration as well, with new leadership in place at the federal Immigration department. Prime Minister Trudeau recently appointed Marc Miller as the new Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), replacing the outgoing Minister Sean Fraser. Prior to his new post, Minister Miller had served as Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and as Minister of Indigenous Services.
